Voting Question: HELP! Car towed to another city and impounded in Dallas area. Legal?

Last week I went to get a pizza place when I came out my car would not start. I don't know anyone here. so I had to call a cab. Anyhow I called the manager the next day and explained I could not pick the car up until that evening or the next day. She said it was fine, but when I returned it had been towed by a towing company at the expense of $190.00 and 26.50 a day. I do not have the money. and it is has been almost 6 days now the fee is 350 plus it is in another city. Is this legal? I live in Lewisville, Tx the car was moved to Plano, Tx? I have scraped the money together but wonder what my options. The law states I must receive written notice before towing?
